GunBound

GunBound is a free to play turn based 2.5D artillery shooter that originated from South Korea and was released in the United States as GunBound: Thor's Hammer in July 2006.

GunBound was developed and is maintained by South Korean developer Softnyx. It is currently in its third major release, subtitled Season 2 internationally and called GunBound Revolution in North America with ijji as its host. The first major beta release was Thor's Hammer.

Gameplay

Similar to Worms, but with a few differences. Only teamplay is available, meaning each team must have an equal amount of players (up to four per team) before a game can start. Each player is then randomly spawned on the map and will take turns firing at one another (or specific targets) until one team is defeated, with the terms of defeat differing in each game mode.

Each player is allowed to choose a mobile (also referred to as bot), or artillery shooter, which have various defensive and offensive characteristics as well as different projectiles that are specific to the mobile. Each mobile has three different types of shots: Shot 1, Shot 2, and SS (commonly called Special Shot or Secret Shot).

Avatars

Equipment in the game that enhances character stats and/or aesthetic appearance while in game. Equippable slots include Head, Face, Body, and Flag. While there are hundreds of avatars available for purchase, there are some combinations that are clearly superior in terms of character stat enhancement and generally considered the "best". However, many players chose to ridicule the stat-based avatar system and instead opted for aesthetic appearance and played only in the "Avatar Off" servers, where all avatar stats are rendered to 0, except Popularity, which allowed players to make money faster by investing in Money Suits. In addition to avatars players now have the choice to purchase "pets" for cash, which give special abilities such as reduced delay, increased damage, and the like. Its really gay.

Mobiles

There are now 23 mobiles to date (excluding Random) in the latest version of GunBound, but in the original Thor's Hammer version of GunBound only 15 mobiles existed: Armor, Mage, Nak, Lightning, JD, A.Sate, Trico, Bigfoot, Boomer, Ice, Turtle, Grub, Raon Launcher, Dragon, and Knight. The newer mobiles which were added in the later version of GunBound are J.Frog, Kalsiddon, Aduka, Maya, Wolf, Phoenix, Frank, and Whale. Each of the mobiles are classified by categories which define their defensive and offensive capabilities, as well as resistance and weakness characteristics to certain attacks. All resistance and weakness constitutes a +4% and -4% defense bonus to the specified attack type, respectively. Below is a list categorized by their respective type, followed by their attack type in parentheses and nicknames.

Some shit about GunBound HQ and GunBound Guild League. Refrain from flaming Cazesudo/uberbacon/Shere for being a douche. A more qualified historian (or historians) will later update this section.
